Middle/Senior School Music Night is Back!

Madelyn McCarthy
On Friday, December 10th, the CDS Concert Band, Jazz Band, and Choir will be hitting the stage for the first time in over a year, as Music Night finally returns! This will be the first virtual concert that CDS has ever done and will be streamed online this Friday night at 7:00 pm. The link will be shared in advance by way of CDS’s Instagram bio and at www.cds.on.ca/live.
Like previous years, this much anticipated concert features music that we all know and love. It will include a wide variety of musical genres, ranging from pop music, to medleys from movies, to more contemporary instrumental music. In particular, Ms. Promane notes that “the programming has been a lot of fun and includes really great pieces that I think the audience will enjoy.”

More than 90 students will be performing at this exciting event, which has really been the result of a strong team effort. While Ms. Promane has spearheaded the performance, Ms. Romanowich, Mr. Zero, Mr. Jung, Mr. Marchessault and Mr. Hofstetter have also been instrumental in putting it together. Moreover, Mr. Lawton is assisting on the video editing side, along with a professional team of videographers. And last but not least, let’s not forget the hard work of all of the students who have been practicing day and night for the past several months.

This is a show not to be missed! We hope that all of you can join us virtually tomorrow night!

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
