Celebration of Language & Talent: Grade 1 & 2 French Plays

Last week, the new Primary French Classroom came alive with excitement as Grades 1 and 2 showcased their French language skills. On Wednesday, June 5th, Grade 1 students performed "La Poule Maboule," followed by Grade 2 with "Les Trois Petits Cochons" on Thursday, June 6th. Both plays were outstanding successes.
These events allowed students to bring characters to life and demonstrate their growing proficiency in French. Each play concluded with a lively song and dance, impressing the audience. The students' enthusiasm and dedication were evident, marking a significant step in their French language journey.
A special thank you to the parents, Mr. Liggett and Mrs. Wildberger for making these days so meaningful. Above all, congratulations to the students for their hard work and excellent performances. Your commitment shone brightly and set a high standard for future endeavors.
Bravo à tous!

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
