MS/SS Text Books & SS Schedules

Senior School Student Schedules will be available to review on Friday, June 20th. Students should log in to MyCDS to access.

For the coming school year 2025/26 we are continuing to partner with Amazon for purchasing new and gently used textbooks. Books will be available for you to purchase on and you can enjoy fast shipping directly to your home or a shipping address of your choice. If you do not have an Amazon account, you can check out as a guest.

Additionally we have partnered with The Batner Bookstore in Thornhill where you can visit in person or shop on-line. Alternatively, you can use any other bookseller you prefer.
You are strongly encouraged to order your textbooks for Grades 7-12 in early July to avoid publisher backorders and to ensure the best selection of used books (if applicable).

Book Lists:

For students in Grades 7 and 8: Please see the Book Lists below for the required books for your grade. You do not need your timetable when ordering your books.

For students in Grades 9 to 12: Please see the Book Lists below to aid in your textbook ordering. Refer to your timetable for course codes when ordering your books.

Instructions for ordering textbooks for electives in Grades 9-12:
Students can access their most updated schedule by logging into MyCDS > MyDay > Progress > Select Grade (select next year’s grade). We strongly encourage you to order your textbooks in early July. However, please note that if you are considering changing a course, Amazon returns must be made within 30 days of purchase. Please remember not to mark in or on these texts to ensure a refund.

Previously, CDS was able to offer a book return on consignment through our former book provider. Unfortunately, we are no longer able to offer this arrangement. We do encourage learning about the many informal exchanges / resell groups on Facebook or via your own personal connections at CDS. If you would like to donate your gently used textbooks, please feel free to drop them off at the Senior School Office before June 27, 2025.

If you have any questions or if you are having difficulty finding a textbook on Amazon or at Batner Bookstore, please contact the Business Office and we will try to assist.

Thank you,

Land Acknowledgment

The Country Day School wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. Our nearest Indigenous Nations are now the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Chippewas of Georgina Island. The Dish with One Spoon Wampum covenant is often cited as an example of the shared responsibility for caring for these lands among the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples who would call these their traditional territories. CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection to this land can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for the land and waters for future generations.
