The Booking It Project

The English department is happy to announce the start of the Booking It! initiative. This project was designed with the goal of creating lifelong readers at CDS.
The Urban Dictionary defines "booking" as "the act of leaving a book you have read in a random place for someone else to discover."

Every two weeks, the English department will highlight a member of the CDS community and their chosen book (faculty, staff, and students are all welcome to submit!). Their photo and a brief description of the book will be available for viewing at the English department bulletin board above the photocopier in the library.

Student Council President, Reese Falkenberg, was the first student to put forth her chosen title of Persuasion by Jane Austen. Students or faculty who would like to submit a book for consideration, should use the Google Form circulated, or send an email to Ms. Hudson or Mr. Dermody.

Land Acknowledgment

CDS wishes to recognize and acknowledge the land on which the school operates. For thousands of years, these have been the traditional lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. We also recognize the traditional territory of the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe and the Haudenosaunee peoples who also shared this land.  CDS respects the relationship with these lands and recognizes that our connection can be strengthened by our continued relationship with all First Nations, by acknowledging our shared responsibility to respect and care for these lands and waters for future generations.
